I feel that all three-research models can be used in researching information within the schools. I used the following three videos to help me decide on the thing I would research.
I have worked in schools where we have taken the assessment data and broke it apart and analyzed what we need to work on next. I think that this is an example of quantitative research and I would continue to use this approach. It is helpful in seeing the areas of need within the curriculum. I would use the data to separate the students into groups to help address their specific areas of need.
I feel that it may be helpful to combine the qualitative and action research model to research the effectiveness of professional development opportunities with the school. I would research the skills that teachers need to further develop. I would then take the data found and find a group of teachers that would be willing to participate in the study. The teachers would go through professional development training sessions and then implement the strategies in their classes. It would be interesting to see what the teachers got from the training and how they applied it in their classes. The most important reason for training teachers, I would think is to impact student achievement. I think it would move in to another research topic but I would then like to see the benefits of professional development classes had on student achievement. Research is an important part to education and we must use what we find to help the students be successful.
